The Olney Green Natural Burial Ground Buckinghamshire
The area currently being used for burials is fenced and the grass is allowed to grow naturally and has become a haven for grass loving wildlife and numerous wild flowers are returning to the area. However, this will gradually change as memorial trees grow and the ground becomes shaded – favouring woodland species. Each winter, areas around the memorial trees are planted with supporting tree types such as thorn, field maple, holly and hazel, which can be coppiced periodically, providing an ideal environment for woodland wild flowers.
