Oxford Bee Company Bee Nesting Cylinders
Britain has over 250 species of native bee which all play an essential role in the pollination of plants. It is believed that approximately a quarter of these native bee species are now endangered as their traditional nest sites disappear. Fortunately some of these bees rapidly adapt to using next boxes in gardens, so we can all do our bit to help conserve them. This nesting cylinder is designed to attract the Red Mason bee – which is not only an effective pollinator but has a very docile nature and a very mild sting which it only uses when roughly handled, making it a safe species around children and pets. Alternatively, mixed nesting tubes are also available for species such as the Leaf–cutter bee or Blue Mason bee.
